These pictures show the 356 during the stages of applying base and then clear coat. After the clear coat was applied it was then flat and polished. This creates a really beautiful paint finish which is great for modern cars, but unfortunately looks a bit out of place on cars from this period of time.

Therefore a special hand finishing process was later performed, which creates a much more authentic look. This gives all the benefits of modern paint technology with the authentic paint finish from the 50's.
