T25 Escort Cosworth.
After spending a long time looking for a relatively rust free car, I came across a bright orange Escort. When manufactured the car had been exported from the UK, to a Ford Dealership in Hong Kong. This meant that due to the hot climate, the body shell and sills were virtually rusty free. In 2007 the owner bought the car back to the UK.
I then bought the car and set about giving it the full works to return it to its former glory. We completely stripped the car, including removing the engine and gearbox. A complete bare metal re-spray in Ford Imperial Blue was then carried out.
While the engine was out, a complete check and overhaul were performed. We then put the car back together using lots of new original Ford parts.
Once completed we ran the car for a few hundred miles, and then set off to Europe to drive the mountain passes. My Escort performed faultlessly and was a joy to drive, clocking up some 2,300 miles in two weeks!
